Tours Ardrée is one of three golf courses near the city of Tours. A 20 minutes drive up north from the city centre.
We were there last week-end for an early start on saturday morning … and played 9 holes in less than 2 hours on a very fine day (the summer seems to last forever this year).
Ardrée golf course is a real challenge, especially the back nine with a few tough finishing holes : 14th (tricky iron shot from the tee if you want a shot at the green), 15th (160 yards over a water hazard to this short hole’s green), 17th (240 yards up hill par three!) and 18th (you need a 220 yard carry to drive the ball over the burn…).
You may have recognized the tulip that makes up the logo of the Maison Jules, our guest house in Tours. These tulips are hand painted on ceramic times. Their name : “Tuli – charm”, created by Dutch designer Ronald van der Hilst.
Superb oak an poplar floors under the carpets!
When starting the renovation of our guest house in Tours, we uncovered beautiful original parquet floors. Poplar on the second floor, oak in the first floor rooms and beautiful “chevrons” parquet on the ground floor. They just been re-glazed … we love the result!
